At Steiger Feinbäckerei Pasticceria, we believe that every creation should tell a story, made of familiar aromas and contemporary elegance, of true craftsmanship with a touch of innovation. We aim to offer our customers an experience that feels warm, refined, and always tailored to their needs, welcoming them with a smile and fresh products that surprise, every single day.
Ingredients
We firmly believe that quality starts with the ingredients.
This is why we select only fresh, genuine, and high-quality raw materials, avoiding any kind of industrial mix, semi-finished product, or shortcut.
Every item is made entirely in our own workshop, from the dough to the final decoration, with artisanal care and a passion for detail.
In this way, we guarantee not only excellent taste, but also transparency, freshness, and respect for those who choose to share a moment of authentic sweetness with us.
Who We Are
Behind every sweet creation at Feinbäckerei Pasticceria Steiger, there is us: Elizaveta Geremia and Michael Steiger.. We are a couple in life and in work, united by our passion for pastry and by a special encounter that took place in 2021 within the elegant walls of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois***** in Basel. Since that moment, we have been inseparable, both in life and in the kitchen.
Elizaveta, a 30-year-old Italian pastry chef, she trained at the Dieffe Academy of Professions and gained experience in some of the finest pastry shops and restaurants in Italy, including the renowned Pasticceria Perlini in Verona. She moved to Switzerland in 2017, where she worked as Chef de Partie Pâtisserie at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, creating plated desserts, buffets, and brunch offerings. Her most recent role was as head of Pasticceria Carbone in Oberwil, where she was responsible for the full management of the pastry kitchen and customer service.
Michael, a 36-year-old Swiss baker and pastry chef, he holds a Bäcker EFZ diploma and brings over twenty years of experience in renowned pastry shops across the region, including Bachmann in Basel and Buchmann in Münchenstein. He also worked as Chef de Partie Pâtisserie at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, and he is currently Head Pastry Chef at Restaurant Waldrain in Bettingen, where he creates plated desserts, caters events, and crafts custom cakes for special occasions.
Working side by side every day, we have developed a genuine harmony. We understand each other instinctively, we trust one another, and each of us brings their own sensitivity and vision. It is from this fusion, between Swiss expertise and Italian creativity, that our pastries are born: honest, refined, and full of beauty.
Our pastry shop was born from the desire to create a place where every product tells a story and makes those who taste it feel part of something special.
We dream of becoming a point of reference in Basel for those who seek quality, beauty, and authenticity, and of opening a second location in the heart of the city in the coming years.
